Teaser Tuesday: Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town

Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB over at Should Be Reading. This week I chose 'Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town' by Stephen Leacock, one of my 100 Classics.

The Rules:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

I decided to go for just 1 teaser, but chose a big one!

When you meet Mr. Smith first you think he looks like an over-dressed pirate. Then you begin to think him a character. You wonder at his enormous bulk. Then the utter hopelessness of knowing what Smith is thinking by merely looking at his features gets on your mind and makes the Mona Lisa seem an open book and the ordinary human countenance as superficial as a puddle in the sunlight.

I like this Teaser, it's both funny and there is some thought behind it. And it's Canadian!

So, what are you teasing us with?
