Harry Potter Moments of the Week

I'm about to go off on some travelling so I won't be able to blog until Sunday! So today's meme is going to have to be a good one! Harry Potter Moment of the Week is hosted by Leah over at Uncorked Thoughts and today we're picking:

The Best 'Luna Moment'!
Luna is one of my favourite characters, there are so many genius moments for her! I absolutely love the following bit from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!
“Hello' said a vague and dreamy voice from behind them. Harry looked up: Luna Lovegood had drifted over from the Ravenclaw table. Many people were staring at her and few people openly laughing and pointing; she had managed to procure a hat shaped like a life-size lion's head, which was perched precariously on her head.'I'm supporting Gryffindor' said Luna, pointing unnecessarily at her hat. "Look what it does...'She reached up and tapped the hat with her wand. It opened its mouth wide and gave an extremely realistic roar that made everyone in the vicinity jump.'It's good, isn't it?' said Luna happily. 'I wanted to have it chewing up a serpent to represent Slytherin, you know, but there wasn't time. Anyway...good luck, Ronald!"
I just absolutely loved Luna not really caring about the rivalry between houses and just all out supports Gryffindor when she feels like it. I mean, yes, the snake is a bit over the top, but I just love how willing Luna is to always help her friends in her own, rather interesting, way! And I'm so happy that they kept it in the movie!

What is your favourite Luna moment? There are so many to pick from...

  1. What a wonderful moment ^^ you're right, I love how she so brazenly supports Gryffindor, even though she's a Ravenclaw herself. She just doesn't care, so long as she's showing support for her friends :D

  2. Haha, that is a great moment, both in the books, and when she wears it on film. I love how comfortable she is with herself in every single moment of the books. Awesome pick! Here's my HP MOTW.
