Harry Potter Moment of the Week - The Best 'Harry' Moment

I have been terribly absent from blogging this week because I have been writing essays, but they have all been handed in and I am planning on doing nothing but reading for the rest of the month! And I'm returning to the blogosphere with the Harry Potter Moment of the Week, hosted by Leah over at Uncorked Thoughts. This week we're picking:

Our favourite 'Harry' Moment

Although this is perhaps not a 'great' moment in the sense that it's fun, this moment was incredibly important to me.
“I DON'T CARE!" Harry yelled at them, snatching up a lunascope and throwing it into the fireplace. "I'VE HAD ENOUGH, I'VE SEEN ENOUGH, I WANT OUT, I WANT IT TO END, I DON'T CARE ANYMORE!""You do care," said Dumbledore. He had not flinched or made a single move to stop Harry demolishing his office. His expression was calm, almost detached. "You care so much you feel as though you will bleed to death with the pain of it.'Order of the Phoenix
This moment in which Harry is just so incredibly done with everything and has to let his anger, which is largely  directed at himself, is just amazing. It's just so relatable and I love that J.K. Rowling allowed Harry to be "weak" every once in a while because no one wants to be a hero all the time. So that would be my favourite 'Harry' moment from the novels. Just to lighten up the mood, the scene below is one of the 'Harry' moments that always cracks me up.

So, what's your favourite 'Harry' moment?

  1. That's so good. At first while I was reading, I was trying to figure out why you would select that moment, but after your description, I completely get it. You're absolutely right. That weakness makes him human and relatable. Great choice! Jaclyn @ JC's Book Haven.

  2. I absolutely understood Harry at times like this. I mean he was just a kid, and he fought the biggest battles every single day. It's a miracle he stayed sane. :D
    Good pick!

  3. Ah! That moment ^^ SO incredibly powerful! I'm with you: it's not a great moment, in the sense that it's not fun, but it's great because it made Harry incredibly relatable and sympathetic. He was so done with all the loss and injustice of everything. The quote you added there gave me chills. Fantastic pick ^^

I like this sentence! And I agree, it's great that Harry had these "weak" moments.
